Short version: we collect almost nothing, sell nothing, and delete on request.
What we collect
We collect an email address when you subscribe to the newsletter, and anonymous pageview counts that tell us which guides are read. We do not run accounts, advertising pixels, cross-site trackers or browser fingerprinting. Our server keeps standard request logs for security, including the page requested and a truncated IP address, and those logs are rotated every thirty days.
How we use it
The email address is used for the newsletter only. You can unsubscribe with one click in any issue, and the removal is immediate. Pageview counts are aggregated and never tied to a person. We do not build profiles, sell lists or share subscriber addresses with advertisers. If we ever add a sponsor slot, it will be labelled and will not require your data.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses no advertising cookies. A small local-storage entry may remember that you closed a notice or saved an article for later. That entry stays in your browser and is not sent to us. You can clear it from your browser settings at any time, and the site will keep working.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold, request a copy, correct it or have it deleted. Email [email protected] with the subject line DATA REQUEST and we will answer within seven days. If you are in a region with additional statutory rights, tell us and we will apply them. We will not ask you to justify a deletion request.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will note the change at the top of this page and email the newsletter list. Questions that are not about data can go to the contact page. For copyright matters, use the DMCA page so the message reaches the right queue.
